Wheel Time is a training tool for camera hand wheels, run by Neon Media. This page explains exactly what it stores, what leaves your machine, and how to remove it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

The short version

  • You can use Wheel Time without an account. If you do, your training never leaves your browser.
  • If you sign in, your profile and finished rounds are stored so they can appear on leaderboards and follow you between machines.
  • The site shows advertising from Google, which uses cookies.
  • You can delete everything, including submitted rounds, from Account → Delete account.

What is stored on your own device

Wheel Time saves the following in your browser's local storage. It stays on that machine and is not sent anywhere unless you sign in:

  • Your wheel setups — input source, measured axis mapping, polarity, sensitivity, deadzone and lens setting
  • Cumulative wheel time and per-drill bests
  • Your last 60 rounds per drill, including score, smoothness and how much of each round was tracked
  • Preferences such as round length and the repeatable round code

You can export all of it as a file, or erase it, from Settings → Your data. Clearing your browser's site data removes it as well.

What is stored if you create an account

Accounts are handled by Google Firebase Authentication, and data by Google Cloud Firestore. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the basic profile they return. If you sign in with an email address and password, the password is handled by Firebase and is never visible to us.

We store:

  • Your profile — full name, username, the optional “about me” text, an optional Instagram handle, your total wheel time and total number of rounds.
  • Your finished rounds — which drill, score, smoothness grade, how much of the round was tracked, the round code, lens setting, round length and the time it was submitted.

Some of this is public. Leaderboards show your username or full name, your smoothness grade and your wheel time. Clicking your name opens an operator card showing your “about me” text and Instagram handle if you added one. Do not put anything in those fields you would not want shown publicly.

We use this only to run leaderboards and to sync your training between machines. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Advertising cookies

This site shows ads through Google AdSense.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices.

If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, you are asked for consent before any advertising or measurement cookies are set, using a Google-certified consent management platform. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the Cookie choices link in the footer.

Other third parties

  • Google Firebase — the sign-in and database libraries are loaded from gstatic.com, and used only if you sign in.

Wheel Time does not load Google Analytics or any other analytics or tracking product of its own. Typefaces are served from this site rather than from Google Fonts, so rendering the page does not hand your IP address to a third party.

Keeping and deleting your data

Local training stays until you erase it. Account data is kept until you delete your account. Account → Delete account removes your profile, your username, your per-drill totals and every round you have submitted, including your leaderboard entries. It cannot be undone, and training saved locally on your machine is left untouched.

If you are in the UK or EEA you also have the right to access, correct, export or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to complain to your data protection authority. Most of this is available directly in the app; for anything else, get in touch.

Children

Wheel Time is a professional training tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
